Reflections
Our Founder’s Story
Our Founder and CEO, Dr. Te Wu, came to United States with his family at age nine. As a first generation immigrant, partly out of necessity and later out of aspiration, he has been working since. When others talk of sweatshops in the garment district with dread, Te remembers working (and playing gleefully) with friends in those factories. Throughout his teenage years, he worked in various jobs, including waitering in a local restaurant, mowing lawns for $5 (a big deal back then), working in a construction company, and making eyeglasses in an opthamology lab. He found his first company while in high school, trading public domain software on floppy disks. After graduating, he worked at Nabisco, Accenture (then Andersen Consulting), Oracle, Handshake Dynamics, Access Group, KPMG, and now PMO Advisory. Twenty years ago, he found a passion in teaching, and he taught at Touro University, Stevens Institute of Technology, China Europe International Business School and Montclair State University where he is a tenured professor. He believes the value of work and education, and he is passionate about “getting the right things done”.
Throughout his life, he has so much help along the way, like Ms. Duane in 5th Grade, Ms. Lillis in High School, Ken Warren in his firt professional job after college, and Mike Cole who was a client that became a mentor. He started working with non-profits in 2000, helping Consumer Union elevate their online publication systems and later at Access Group where he built a PMO. Along this journey, his clients included the CollegeBoard, Lumina Foundation, Columbia University Teacher’s College, Weill Cornell Medicine, OATS/AARP, Guttmacher Institute, American Kidney Funds, Upwardly Global, and many many more.
“Good is a simple word with complex meaning. For us, ‘good’ means a respect for our world including individuals, organizations, communities, and environment to build a shared future that is better than the present.”
